Trick Or Treat

Good Monday Morning! Hope you all had a great weekend!!! We had a fun day of trick or treating with the kiddos yesterday! We have a great week planned for you, we will be getting the photos back from our first Icing Designs photo shoot and can't wait to share them with you, we will also be releasing our vintage French holiday line! Today we thought we would share a few of our trick or treating photos with you and quick DIY project.

Kellie decided to make Leela a little Tinkerbell costume out of tooling and ribbon this year. The tooling dress looked so sweet that I decided to make little pink ones for the twins. The dresses are not only so sweet but they are so easy to make and will be fun for the girls to dress up in all year round! All you need is a few spools of tooling spools, elastic, ribbon and any embellishments that you would like to use. Just measure the elastic under your little girl's arms around the bust. Then just sew the ends of the elastic together. Put the elastic band back on and measure from the elastic down as long as you would like the dress to be. (We used two different tooling shades, one pink and one shimmered silver). After all of your strips are cut alternate tying the tooling onto the dress until there is no elastic showing.

After the tooling is all ties on you can embellish how ever you like. I decided to add a decorative ribbon around the top. I simply glued it on with a glue gun.

Now you can just put the dress back on your little girl and mark where you would like to put the ribbon straps.
Again you can simply hot glue the straps on in the front, make sure you make the ribbon long enough to tie in the back. Then I just added some rose buds in the front where the ribbon was glued on.
If you have tooling left over you can even make a little hair clip.

If you want to feel like a little girl who just walked into a princess store, check Ouma out and you are sure to be swooning in no time! Here's a little secret, our Paris Bride illustration was totally inspired by the Striped Carnival Party Dress!!

Happy Halloween

With Halloween right around the corner we thought we would share some fun candy ideas with you, courtesy of the amazing Craft Diva (who also happens to be my fabulous aunt Gail)! She is an amazing chocolatier, specializing in well...everything! She makes the most beautiful chocolates...remember the shimmered Eiffel Towers she made for the girl's Paris Party!?! Gail whipped up some fun Halloween chocolates for us to share with you. This is just the beginning though, soon we will be sharing some beautiful French and holiday chocolates that she created! Go visit her on facebook or contact her for any chocolate cravings at thecraftdiva@gmail.com!

Here's a mini DIY...just take pretzel rods and white, orange and yellow candy melts. Melt the candy and drizzle over pretzels to create a candy corn look!

Joyfolie Frosted Photo Garlands

Back in June we featured an amazing woman named Jessica and her company Joyfolie. We were just blown away by her and her hand-made, gorgeous shoes! About a month later we featured her again in our "Most Inspirational Women" series. Well, over the last couple of months we have developed a great relationship with her. She is a wonderful woman and we are so blessed to have had the pleasure of getting to know her. Jessica asked us if we would be willing to create something special and unique for her shop. She sent us some of her amazing photos of her products and we created a limited edition Joyfolie photo garland. It is available in her shop now!

Sweetly Ever After

Do you remember this beautiful engagement that we featured a while back? Well Kara and Chris were recently married and were sweet enough to let us share their day with you. When we received these photos we were literally blown away! We could not stop looking at them. Kara and Chris put so many thoughtful and delicate details into their wedding. The photographs (by Millie Holloman Photography) were so artfully and thoughtfully taken that we feel like we were actually walking through their special day with them. So much raw emotion was captured! It's almost like you can feel the love and romance that filled the air at this beautiful wedding. We just ADORE Kara, she is one of the sweetest people we have had to pleasure of working with. We wish she lived closer to us so we could spend time getting to know her better! We are just smitten with her and the vision that she had for her wedding and the way she put her vision to life! We are head over heels in love with the softness, the colors, the florals, the gorgeous garlands and just the stunning simplicity of this entire event! Kara and Chris...we wish you all of the love and happiness that your hearts can hold! It is so touching to see how in love you are! Thank you so much for letting us be a little part of your wedding day, it was an honor! We know you will live...sweetly ever after!

(These were the frosted photos that we created from their engagement photos! We love tucked into those sweet little packages! What a special keepsake!)
