Icing Designs: paper straw craft ideas

Today we thought we would share a fun, birthday diy with you! We are just in love with paper straws, there are so many creative things you can do with them! They are definitely not just for drinking with! We are working on a 100th birthday party right now for my husband's grandmother and we were trying to think of a creative way to top some of her cupcakes! {Materials}
Paper straws, color and pattern of your choice
Yellow tissue paper
Glue
Optional glitter

Just cut your straws in half, so that you have a good candle size. Cut your yellow tissue paper into about 3x3 squares. If you desire, you can glitter the edges of the paper to give your candle a little sparkle!

Take the center of your paper and just kind of scrunch it to form a flame. Then take a dab of glue and stick it in the top your straw...and you have a perfect birthday candle!! These would also look so cute on top of a cake, using all different patterned and colored straws too!!
