We have a VERY special birthday to celebrate tomorrow! Sweet, sweet Annabella (Kellie's oldest daughter) will be having her "golden birthday" party tomorrow, as she turns the big 10! You may remember he beautiful face as she was our model for our "cupcake couture mini" photos! Annabella is such a special girl with a huge heart and an old soul! She loves owls and of course cupcakes! So when we created our "Owl Love You Forever" line, it was with Annabella's birthday in mind!
If you have been following us, you know we love to add DIY elements into all of our parties! We wanted to do something that was whimsical and fun to add to the sweet table. We used to have an illustration of a birdie in a cupcake tree, that we have since discontinued, but we thought "lets bring that tree to life"! So we created an "owl in a cupcake tree"! We are just in love with the way it turned out and you would never believe how easy it is to create! We just found some really whimsical, bendable branches at Hobby Lobby and put them into a little rustic vase (filled with Styrofoam). We just bended them to make them look balanced. We found little round wooden disks that we just painted brown to match the branches. Then we just hot glued them onto various, well-balanced spots on the tree so that they would be able to hold the mini cupcakes. And of course we had to find a glittery owl and dressed her up with a little necklace and flower to compliment our invitations!
Wow...I would NEVER be able to make something like that! It is gorgeous...looks store bought. You girls are soo creative!
