Fill-in-the-blank thank you notes

The best part of what we do is getting to work with unique customers with unique needs on a daily basis!
Although our shop is filled with invitations, cupcake toppers, gift tags, cards, cake toppers and garlands, there are a lot of unique items that we can create as well! We love when one of our customers comes up with the something that's not in our shop, that they want to add to their party goods. Recently, we created a full mermaid party for a customer and she wanted her young daughter to be able to write her own birthday thank you card to her friends! So we created fill in the blank note cards for her, with the coordinating mermaid illustration on them! We loved the idea so much, we decided to add them to our shop! So, we are now offering the 'fill in the blank' thank you note cards that can be customized with any one of our illustrations or a glittered monogram or name...you can find them here!

DIY hand-glittered mini paper pom fairy flower wands

We have been thinking about this project for a while and the best way to share it with you. We absolutely love paper poms, they are so inexpensive and make such a huge statement! We always thought it would be gorgeous to have all white paper poms with glittered edges over a sweet table for a wedding or clustered to make a beautiful arch for a bride and groom to stand under! Well, the larger poms are a little bit harder and more time consuming to glitter, so we thought we would share how to glitter the mini ones! So we created these mini paper pom fairy wands, which would  be so sweet to make if your little one is having a fairy party...or if they just love pretending they are a fairy! My girls got a hold of these and immediately put their fairy wings and tutus on, they ran around outside and played with these for almost an hour! These little wands would compliment our sweet little cupcake pixie paper goods perfectly! You could also just use these as regular poms and hang them over a sweet table! They look gorgeous when the light hits them!  

Materials: 

mini paper poms {you can make your own or we used Martha Stewart} 

glue {Elmer's or tacky glue will work fine} 

glitter {we used Martha Stewart white and silver mixed} 

paint brush

paper straws

ribbon 

glue gun 

Fluff your poms completely. Take a paint brush and dip it in some of your glue and just start brushing the edges of the poms. You do not have to be neat about this, it looks pretty if you make a few brush marks down the petal of the poms, you do not have to focus on just getting the edges. After you have the front side brushed with glue, you can either shake your glitter onto it or dip it in glitter that you have sprinkled on paper. It may look a little clumpy, but when the glue dries it will look perfect! After you have glittered your poms and are happy with them just take a dab of hot glue and glue the paper straw into the center of the pom. Finally, take some ribbon and tie it onto the straw and you are done! 

 

"This Makes Me Happy"

Ok, so we just came across the most sweetest little Etsy Shop! We are so smitten we just had to share it with you! Frances, is the creative mind behind "This Makes Me Happy"! Her shop will make you so "happy" especially if you are into gorgeous handmade party decor with pretty colors, a touch a glitz and pinch of glitter!

"Sweet Sleepover" 11th Birthday Party

This past weekend Kellie's daughter sweet Annabella celebrated her 11th birthday! She had such a successful and fun-filled sleepover last year, that Annabella decided she wanted another one this year! So the theme became, "A Sweet Sleepover"! To set the tone we used our "sweet shoppe" invites! At the party the girls decorated cake boxes, decorated their own personal mini cakes that they got to bring home and share with their families, had a candy hunt, opened gift with oven mits on their hands...yes challenging but so much fun!

For decorations we played off of the color palette on the invites, pink and aqua...always a pretty combination and perfect for an 11 year old! We created our own tassel garlands that we strung in multiple locations! We even put one on each girl's chair, where they sat to decorate their cakes! There are so many great tutorials online for creating tassel garlands, we used on from Visual Vocabulary, found here. We also ordered paper poms from our favorite pom vendor, Paper White Designs! We made a mini letter garland that read, "11 is sweet" and an oversized cupcake flag topped our ruffled caked. We also purchased a super fun metallic, aqua backdrop so that the girls could take silly photos in front of it, of course they loved it! We even took photos of them holding their cakes in front of it.

We didn't necessarily have a "sweet table" but more of a "sweet area"! We set up pink wooden boxes that the girls had their cake decorating supplies in and were able to decorate their cakes right in the boxes. They also helped to avoid a huge cake mess! We really wanted to mimic the illustration on our invites, so in the middle of the table we set up 3 pedestals with desserts that Annabella picked out for us to make! We made a tall ruffle cake, cookie dough cupcakes {umm yea they are amazing}, brownie pops with a shimmered polka dot and of course what party would be complete without french macarons rimmed in pink sugar on top of a bowl full of jelly beans! Above the table we set up 3 apothecary jars on a shelf filled with candy they girls could take home.

The "sweet sleepover" was a success and a great party for an 11 year old girl! Although, I have an idea that Kellie may be taking the next year off from hosting another sleepover ;)

Gosh & Golly

Etsy is where we got our start selling our paper goods and where we got a ton of inspiration before we even started. There are so many amazing vendors and artists selling on this huge online shop! We used to feature an Etsy vendor every Thursday, and we would love to start sharing some of the great shops that inspire us again! We recently came across Gosh & Golly! Gosh & Golly sells the most adorable 3D wall art you have ever seen! All of the hand-made pieces are separate and can be hung and arranged however you want them to be! Each of her pieces are dainty, sweet and so whimsical! They can be used as mobiles in a babies room or playroom! We could even see any of the pieces used as adorable party decor, how about hanging one of these over your next sweet table...how magical would that be!?! I'm not sure we could pick one favorite piece but the kites and clouds, owls and clouds and hot air balloons are pretty darn cute! Which ones are your favorites? Lorax Inspired Party Collection and DIY

We are so excited to share our newest collection with you...inspired by the Dr. Seuss movie, The Lorax! We absolutely adore Dr. Seuss, his over the top whimsical imagination is unmatched! When we heard that they were coming out with the Lorax, we really wanted to do something "Lorax" inspired to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and the new movie! So going a little bit out of our element with our signature pastels we did something bursting with color and whimsy! We have to admit this is one of our favorite designs to date! We want to thank our sweet friend Courtney from Pizzazzerie for featuring our new collection this weekend! We also thought we would share a little DIY with you! This "Lorax" inspired moustache is super cute to top your cupcakes or cake with or adorable as a photo prop! All you need is stiff yellow felt, coordinating striped straws, mini orange pom poms, hot glue and scissors. Just create a moustache in any shape you like, cut it out and trace it onto your felt. Cut the felt out and glue your straw onto the back. Turn it over and hot glue your mini pom pom on and your done! Super simple, right!?!
