Ice Cream and Sweets Baby Shower

This past weekend we had a shower for one of Kellie’s closest friends, Jenny! Jenny and her husband Stuart are expecting a sweet baby girl in April. Jenny is such a sweetheart so of course her shower had to be full of cupcakes, cookies and ice cream! Kellie and I turned the shower into an Icing Event!

We started with the invitation to set the tone, we illustrated and hand-glittered a little baby carriage with a pink ice cream cone peeking out...and a butterfly on the handle to match the bedding Jenny choose for the nursery. Out of the baby carriage design we created matching cupcake flags to put in the Tiny Tim cookies and matching thank you tags to tie around the cookies that the guests took as they left. (These ice cream baby shower invitations, cupcake flags, gift tags and matching thank you cards are available in our Esty shop!)

Kellie purchased the adorable mini pom poms from Etsy, Prost to the Host, to adorn the banister.

We made all of the cupcakes and then adorned them with chocolate butterflies that we made. We made all of the butterfly parts separately so that when we put them on the cupcakes they looked three dimensional.

This is the “sweet baby” hand-glittered sign that hung above the sweets table.

These ice cream cone cookies we made were frosted with royal icing. When the royal icing dried we shimmered the cone with a little bit of petal dust...there can never be enough shimmer!

Tiny Tim cookies topped with cupcake flags!

Now to the ice cream bar! Everyone was able to make their own ice cream sundae in a waffle cone bowl. We created hand-glittered tags to go around each topping tied with a sweet yellow bow. We made homemade chocolate and caramel sauce to top off the sundaes.

The thank you cookies were Scottish shortbread cookies dipped in pink chocolate. Jenny’s husband, Stuart is from Scotland. Melissa just happens to be Scottish too and has shortbread recipe that has been passed down through generations...so these cookies were a special treat!

The glowing momma with a cupcake on her belly!! How cute is she!

Best Wishes Jenny and Stuart! We can't wait to meet that sweet baby girl!
