DIY Rosette Lollipop Topiaries

We are so excited to share our rosette lollipop topiaries with you! We hope you will find these step by step instructions easy to follow! Have fun with them. If you decide to make them send us some pictures we would love to see them!!!

All you need for the lollipops are 2 12x12 sheets of your favorite paper, an 10 inch cake board, ribbon, a dowel rod, a decorative center piece (we used a mini ornament) scissors and a glue gun. For the base we just used a mini clay pot, white spray paint, a styrofoam ball and paper garland.

To begin, take one of the 12x12 pieces of paper, turn it over so the printed side is down, place your cake circle down and trace it. Make sure you place your circle at a corner of the paper that you have extra paper to make a rosette out of.

After you cut out the circle you should also have a strip left over...

Cut the left over strip so that it is an even rectangle, then make an accordion fold...

Take the other sheet of paper and cut it into 4 even strips. Accordion fold each strip.

At this point you can glue the paper that you cut into a circle onto the cake board.
Take your four strips that have been accordion folded and glue the ends together so that you have one long strip.

Cut out a little square of paper and set aside. Take the strips and glue the ends of the paper together to form the rosettes. Do this with the larger strip of paper and then again with the smaller strip. Turn the rosettes over and glue the little square of paper into the center, this will help hold the rosette together and keep it from popping up.

Now that your rosettes are formed you can glue the larger one into the middle of the circle. When that is dry go ahead and glue the smaller rosette onto the larger one. At this point you can glue the decorative piece of your choice into the center of the smaller rosette.

Take a strip of ribbon, make a bow and glue it onto the bottom of the circle.

Wilton makes 12" wooden dowel rods, we used these to glue onto the back of the circle to make the lollipop! The last part is just to spray paint your clay pot white. We just glued some decorative paper garland around the top to make it a little more festive. Pop the little styrofoam ball in the pot and then just stick your lollipop in!

We added a few glass stones onto the top just to hide the styrofoam and give the pot a little balance.

Rosette Lollipop Topiaries

This is a really busy week for us! We are preparing for my twin daughter's third birthday party. Here is a sneak peek of what we are working on! We love paper rosettes; they are so whimsical and think they go perfectly with a "Paris" themed party! But we wanted to take our love for paper rosettes to another level and combine them with our love for sweets! So we came up with our rosette lollipop topiaries!

If you love these as much as we do, we will be doing a DIY tutorial on how we made these...so stay tuned!

Paris in the Springtime Birthday Party

This weekend was my twin daughters' third birthday party! (which I can not believe...where does the time go!) With our love for all things French, we choose a "Paris in the Springtime" theme. It was so fun preparing for this party, my girls kept saying we are having a Pawis pawty with the Apple Tower!

This party was almost entirely DIY. We created everything from the decorations (except the pom poms....thank you Prost to the Host!) to the desserts (except for the Eiffel Tower chocolates...thank you to my fabulous aunt Gail the Craft Diva) ourselves!

We choose to use a pink and champagne color palette. We created this "Paris" glittered letter garland to go across the gold mirror that was hung above the table.

We created another garland to go across the table that said "Ohh LaLa"!

We set our DIY rosette lollipop topiaries on separate table with the plates, napkins and utensils! They added a really fun and sweet touch to the lace covered table.

We also made a variety of rosettes to hang on the wall.

We covered small glass vases with large lace ribbons and tied them with pink bows. We used these to put the utensils in.

We fell in love with this chalkboard when we saw it! We knew it would be perfect to write the food menu on! We just hot glued a little silk flower on the side to add a little "French" flair to it!

For thank you's everyone took home the candy poppers we made inspired by the girls from Posh Paperie!

Now for the dessert table! This was our favorite part of the party! We were so pleased with how it all came together! We used a white table cloth with a pink lace overlay to set all of the goodies on. We made all of the dessert from scratch starting with mini cupcakes with mini rosette cupcake flags to compliment the ones on the wall. We also made pink French macaroons filled with French buttercream, cream puffs dusted with powdered sugar, a strawberry napoleon, pink shimmered Eiffel tower chocolate lollis (thank you craft diva!!) and palmiers drizzled with pink chocolate. We also filled apothecary jars with pink and white salt water taffy. Finally, our centerpiece was an amazing gold glittery Eiffel Tower!

We hope you enjoyed seeing our "Paris in the Springtime Party"!

Sweetly,
Melissa and Kellie
